Data Collection Notes
To assess the quality of the questionnaire, a pre-test for the census took place from August 14, 2014 - August 23, 2014.
Data collection started on 24th November and ended on 24th December 2014. Interviews were conducted either in Kinyarwanda or English languages.
Questionnaires
The questionnaire was developed in English and translated into Kinyarwanda. Appropriate tests were performed which provided feedback to improve the questionnaire.

Supervision
The data collection was conducted during a period of 26 days from 24th November to
24th December 2014. Sundays were considered as holidays.
The field work was organized as follows:
1. National level : This level was organized in 5 regions
2. Regional level : This level was composed by 4 to 10 districts according to geographical and neighboring situation
3. Zone level This level was composed by 2 to 3 districts that were grouped according to geographical and neighboring situation
4. District The administrative District (was covered by one Team leader in most area except in districts of Kigali city whereby each district was covered by more than 4 Team Leader)
5. Sector The administrative sector (was covered by one enumerator in most area except in some urban sectors where the number of enumerator was greater than 2 or more depending on the concentration of establishments)
The following were responsibilities of the team leader:
Ø Communicate and inform to the local government authorities about establishment census in the district, sector, cell and village levels, and to request its partnership;
Ø Control and supervise the establishment census activities in the District assigned to him/her;
Ø Facilitate the enumerator in term of transport, if necessary;
Ø Check all questionnaires filled by enumerators. If some important information are missing, send back the enumerator to the establishment enumerated;
Ø Organize regular meeting with enumerators;
Ø Produce daily and weekly report and submit it to Zonal supervisor;
Ø Submit regularly the collected questionnaire to the Zonal supervisor
Supervisions from NISR were conducted on regular basis to ensure professionalism in data collection.
